# Payment methods

The Payment methods box shows which payment methods the current offers accept. It ranks each method by the share of offers that support it, so you can quickly see which methods are most popular right now.

## What it shows

The box lists payment methods that sellers and buyers in the [P2P](https://docs.p2pprice.app/glossary/) market accept for your chosen currency and [CEX](https://docs.p2pprice.app/glossary/) (centralized exchange). Each method appears with a percentage. That percentage tells you how many of the current offers accept that method.

- A method near the top has a high share. Many offers accept it.
- A method near the bottom has a low share. Fewer offers accept it.

## Important: this box uses the latest snapshot

The Payment methods box always uses the most recent snapshot of the market. It does not follow the time range you set on the rest of the analytics page.

For example, if you set the page to show the past 7 days, the charts and trends will cover that period. But the Payment methods box will still show data from right now, based on the latest live offers.

This is by design. Payment method popularity can shift quickly, and the latest snapshot gives you the most useful picture for trading today.

## Filters that apply

The box does follow two of your page filters:

- **Currency**: it shows payment methods for the local currency you selected.
- **CEX**: it shows payment methods from the exchange you selected, such as Binance.

It does not change when you change the time range.

## How a beginner uses it

Before you place a trade, check this box to see if your payment method is common.

1. Look at the payment method you plan to use.
2. Check its share percentage.
3. If the share is high, many offers accept it. You will have more choices and it will be easier to find a match.
4. If the share is low, fewer offers accept it. You may need more time to find a suitable offer.

This is especially useful for people doing [on ramp](https://docs.p2pprice.app/glossary/) or [off ramp](https://docs.p2pprice.app/glossary/) trades, where the payment method often determines which offers are open to you.
