# Daily volume

The Daily volume box shows roughly how much [USDT](https://docs.p2pprice.app/glossary/) was bought and sold in each hour of one past day. Pick a day, and the box draws a bar chart so you can see which hours had the most activity.

## What you see

Each hour gets one or two bars:

- **Green bar**: estimated USDT bought during that hour
- **Red bar**: estimated USDT sold during that hour
- **Gray hour**: no data was available for that hour

The numbers are estimates, not exact totals.

## This box uses the day you pick, not the page time range

This is the most important thing to know about this box. When you change the time range on the rest of the page, the Daily volume box does not change. It always shows data for the single day you picked inside the box itself.

To change what the box shows, change the day picker inside the box.

## Pick a day, currency, and CEX

At the top of the box you choose three things:

- **Day**: one past day you want to look at
- **Currency**: the local currency, such as USD or AED
- **[CEX](https://docs.p2pprice.app/glossary/)**: the centralized exchange you want data from

The box then shows hour-by-hour volume for that exact combination.

## Optional price overlay

You can turn on a price overlay. When it is on, a price line appears on top of the bar chart. This lets you compare volume and price at the same time, for example to see whether price moved when volume was high.

Use the toggle inside the box to turn the overlay on or off.

## Gray hours

A gray hour means the box has no data for that time. This usually happens when there were very few or no active offers during that hour. Skip gray hours when you are looking for busy periods.

## How to use it as a beginner

The main reason to use this box is to find which hours of the day have the most [P2P](https://docs.p2pprice.app/glossary/) trading activity. Here is a simple way to start:

1. Pick a recent past day using the day picker.
2. Choose your currency and CEX.
3. Look for the hours with the tallest bars. Those are the busiest hours.
4. Turn on the price overlay if you also want to see how prices moved through the day.

Knowing the busy hours helps you plan when to trade. More activity usually means more offers to choose from.
